The SWAT App is a mobile-based service that (a) instantly secures live-recordings of user’s interactions with the police onto a cloud server, (b) allows users to report in real-time police misconduct, and (c) educates users on their civil rights about engaging police.
The software is important for a couple reasons.
- Officers use less force when being recorded. However, if excessive force is used, it’s recorded and sent directly to a server.
- Victims can report their abuse from the privacy of their own home without fear of entering the police station.
