David | Process Engineer

David is a process engineer and currently works as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton. David had some questions about a a key feature of the app and brought forward a really important question. How will you ensure that the videos being streamed from the mobile app are actually of police interactions?

He argued that “people could use the live-streaming feature for anything”—not merely recording video footage of the police. Users could potentially stream everything from porn to dance recitals. How will SWAT manage what’s being live-streamed; encourage people to use it only for police misconduct?

This seriously made me think about how much time and work we would need to put into maintaining and securing our mobile and web site. Perhaps, live-streaming isn’t the way to go. This is a question I’ll have to bring back to the team. I guess my first idea was that there are other methods of live-streaming (think: u-stream, etc.). Why would users go to this for normal live-streaming?
