Tien is the Chairman and CEO of Tech 2000, a software development company. He is also a Entrepreneur In-Residence at Georgetown University. I met him at an event last week. He offered some keen insight about the app, but also had some very practical concerns.
Tien could not chat for long but did offer one suggestion. He mentioned that ideally the mobile app would need to be on the phone of users prior to their experience. When in engaging with the police and something comes up worth recording, one would most likely not have very much time to go to the app store, download SWAT, then learn how to use the app in time to record the incident and submit a report. This is simply a practical problem the team will have to deal with. That being said, we’d have to find some way to have users download the app prior to them needing to use it.
